Awful experience, left in the middle of third song
We were eagerly anticipating exploring this finely reputed musician. Alas, from the relentless buzzsaw of the first act - so loud as to set us back in our seats covering our ear - to the extremely overpowering volume of the main attraction this was by far the worst concert experience I have ever experienced. It was evident the sound mix was dreadful compared to other acts I have seen over the years at the Centre in the Square. Notably Buddy Guy, whose guitar licks came through clean as a whistle. For a much-vaunted perfect sound stage this was, I re-iterate, dreadful. Being offered ear plugs by one of your ushers as we fled the scene - a nice gesture - should not have been neccessary. We felt almost physically assaulted by the "music" and ended up with buzzing ears and a headache.
Dreadful sound mixing
Very disappointing. The sound was dreadful - so much base I couldn’t make out the lyrics, JayWood especially but Roberts also. It seemed geared up to an arena-sized venue rather than a concert hall. Completely unfair to Roberts. The fact that everyone stood up for the duration as soon as he stepped onto the stage meant that we wasted our money on our seats ;-). I will not do that again!
